MARISA Small Grants Program for Climate Adaption Funding

The MARISA program is accepting applications for climate adaption funding through the MARISA Small Grants Program.

This program provides small awards to non-profit local and regional organizations in four areas:

Climate and Hazard Mitigation Planning
Rural Capacity Building in Virginia
Negley Run Watershed in Pittsburgh, PA
Green Infrastructure in Baltimore, MD

These grants aim to support frontline communities in underserved neighborhoods, build local capcity for resilience and adaption to climate change, and build partnerships between MARISA and local organizations.

An informational webinar on the grants program will be held on August 15, 2023. Proposals are due by September 14, 2023, with projects to start no sooner than December 1, 2023.

MARISA is led by the non-profit RAND Corporation, in partnership with researchers in Penn State University’s Earth and Environmental Systems Institute, and Johns Hopkins University, along with support from researchers in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Cornell University, and the Virginia Institute of Marine Science.
