PRMS
Precipitation-Runoff Modeling System
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) Precipitation-Runoff Modeling System (PRMS) includes rainfall-runoff dynamics and groundwater recharge, under average and extreme precipitation and snowfall conditions.

- Model Information
- For more information about this model, go to wwwbrr.cr.usgs.gov
- Spatial Resolution
- The model area of analysis is divided into hydrologic response units, where the HRUs are user delineated, often through GIS.
- Temporal Resolution
- Time step is daily, but can be more frequent. Short time steps, less than one day are considered "storm" mode.
- Outputs
- Model outputs include runoff predictions, flow routing of water to soil water, groundwater or stream flow. Model also performs statistical analyses, optimization and visualizations.
