KINEROS2

Kinematic Runoff and Erosion Model

The kinematic runoff and erosion model (KINEROS2) is a rural and urban watershed model that captures flow infiltration, flow routing, and sediment transport.

Model Information

Spatial Resolution
Area of analysis ranges from small field areas to whole watersheds. The region is then subdivided into elements. Parameters are defined for each element.
Temporal Resolution
Time steps are on the order of minutes as the event based models require a small time step. Internal time step will adjust automatically to achieve desired numerical accuracy.
Outputs
Outputs include runoff predictions and sediment discharge per element.
