HEC-RAS

Hydrologic Engineering Center - River Analysis System

The Hydrologic Engineering Center's River Analysis System (HEC-RAS) is a river model that captures both one-dimensional steady and unsteady and two-dimensional unsteady flow dynamics, sediment transport, water temperature, water quality and flow interactions with physical river structures.

Model Information
For more information about this model, go to www.hec.usace.army.mil
Spatial Resolution
River system is split into reaches. The spatial resolution is based on the defined reaches and calculations are executed based on the specified cross section interval define for each reach.
Temporal Resolution
Steady state or dynamic simulations can be run and computations are completed on the order of minutes.
Outputs
Outputs include river routing and flood inundation.
