HEC-RAS
Hydrologic Engineering Center - River Analysis System
The Hydrologic Engineering Center's River Analysis System (HEC-RAS) is a river model that captures both one-dimensional steady and unsteady and two-dimensional unsteady flow dynamics, sediment transport, water temperature, water quality and flow interactions with physical river structures.
- Developer
- USACE
- Model Information
- For more information about this model, go to www.hec.usace.army.mil
- Spatial Resolution
- River system is split into reaches. The spatial resolution is based on the defined reaches and calculations are executed based on the specified cross section interval define for each reach.
- Temporal Resolution
- Steady state or dynamic simulations can be run and computations are completed on the order of minutes.
- Outputs
- Outputs include river routing and flood inundation.
