D-WAQ PART
Delft3D Water Quality Particle Tracking
The Delft3D Water Quality Particle Tracking (D-WAQ PART) simulates transport and water quality with a means of a particle tracking method.

- Spatial Resolution
- D-WAQ PART is best suited for studies over the mid-field range (200 m - 15 km) of instantaneaous or continuous releases, simulation of a plume (for example oil-spill), and modelling of the transport of substances such as salt, bacteria, rhodamine dye, oil, BOD, or other conservative or decaying chemical substances (following first-order kinetics).
- Temporal Resolution
- The time step is flexible and determined by the user. It can be on the order of minutes, hours, or days. However, the time-scale of simulations is usually limited to a few weeks.
- Outputs
- Output from D-WAQ PART is stored in several different ways: 1. For selected observation points, at specified time intervals (history file) 2. For the entire computational grid, at specified time intervals (map file) 3. For a user-defined area, known as the Zoom Grid Output at specified time intervals
