AQUATOX
AQUATOX is an process-based ecosystem model that simulates the fate of pollutants and their direct and indirect biological effects on aquatic ecosystems. It is capable of simulating lakes and ponds, reservoirs, rivers and streams, estuaries, and experimental ponds and enclosures.

- For more information about this model, go to www.epa.gov
- Spatial Resolution
- System elements include lakes and rivers among others. Each component is defined as a point in the model and each point component assumes constant parameters. Therefore the spatial resolution is defined by the number of elements defined.
- Temporal Resolution
- Model can be steady state or utilize a daily or hourly time step. Smaller steps are used internally to reduce numerical error.
- Outputs
- Outputs specifics include water quality characteristics.
